Emerson Hall, Center for the Sciences and Pharmacy, Blake Law School, LaRiviere Center, Sleith Hall, Churchill Hall and Athletics - Classroom upgrades and ongoing service

Norseman AV has been completing installations across campus since 2014 to unify the classroom AV set up in each building.  Our installations have included an Extron presentation switcher and higher lumens, now laser-based, WXGA projectors by NEC. Inputs include a dedicated PC, laptop (both HDMI and VGA/audio), document camera, boundary microphones as well as an auxilliary rack input plate. Control is completed in most cases by an Extron controllers.

In Summer/Fall '15, Norseman installed large format displays and pendant speakers in the Sports Pavilion at WNEU. The Men's Football and Lacrosse locker room received high def LEDs, one encased in an polycarbonate protective enclosure. LEDs were wall mounted in  the Women's Field Hockey/ Lacrosse/ Soccer locker room as well as in the Men's Baseball and Women's Softball locker room. Long distance cable runs are carried over shield CAT6 from Crestron autoswitching input plates to the receivers behind the TVs. All sound, from LEDs as well as VGA and Aux inputs, is routed through JBL mixer amps to JBL speakers.

In Summer/Fall '17, Norseman upgraded newly renovated OT Rooms in the Law School with the now standard classroom equipment that is being used across campus. In these rooms, signal was split to multiple TVs using Extron's DTP Distribution Amplifiers. This distributes HDMI plus control and analog audio up to four displays over CAT cable to DTP receivers at the back of the displays.

We also installed much of the same equipment in the Moot Courtroom ad added extra signal extension to floor boxes, the Judge's Bench and the Court Reporter's area. The system also outputs to the school's video recording system.

Colaccino Center for Health Sciences, Courniotes Hall, Amaron Hall, Shea Library and other - New classroom installations and upgrades plus ongoing service

In Summer/Fall '18, Norseman completed installing the AV systems at the new Colccino Center for Health Sciences located at 1020 State Street in Springfield. We were responsible for installing LED screens to transmit digital signal throughout the building as well as multiple classroom presentation systems in various classrooms. Much like WNE, we relied on Extron's suite of presentation switchers and outfitted many classrooms with both single and dual projection systems. We introduced auto-tracking PTZ cameras and lecture capture support to their large and medium format classrooms. In the Simulation lab, we installed fixed IP network cameras and included paging for room to room communication. The Conference Room needed video conference support which we supplied. Audio support was handled with JBL speakers and a variety of Extron and Crown amplifiers.

Summer '16, Norseman AV installed several rooms with large format LED displays for signage, Huddle space and classroom applications. Classrooms were designed with simplicity in mind and rely on the presentation switcher to route and scale the various input sources in the room. We also integrated an auto tracking PTZ camera, running signal back to the classroom PC via HD-SDI cabling and a corresponding video card for lecture capture capability. Sound is supported by JBL wall mounted speakers and control is handled via Extron.

In the Financial Literacy Lab, we integrated this classroom set up with the alpha-didact ®  system from EBS. This is the ideal system for high-quality presentation and training makes digital screen transmission simple and intuitive.

Admissions Grand Room - AV Upgrade

In early Summer '19, Trinity College hired Norseman AV to install a high lumen projection system that included a sclaing presentation switcher from Extron as well as a 12 x 8 Pro DSP digitl matrix processor to handle the various microphone inputs and audio sources in the room. We replaced an old Stewart projection screen with a new 15' wide electric screen. In addition to providing lecture capture support we also installed an assistive listening system. Control was customized to the college's desires and was achieved through an Extron touch panel. It also programmed to integrate with the shade and lighting systems already in place.

Auditorium - AV Upgrade

In late Summer '19, Norseman AV upgraded the audio-video equipment in the auditorium at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. We were able to reuse some of their equipment but updated the heart of the system with a new presentation switcher. This switcher receives two new new feeds from Stage Left and Stage Right and the video is outputed to the existing Sanyo projector. Audio is sent to the existing sound system. We utilized the 24 channel mixer and integrated it with program audio, wireless mics and the owner furnished assistive listening system at the new audio DSP.  Control at both the booth and the stage is provided via two touch panels.

Projection and Sound Upgrades

Norseman AV has proudly been servicing the Academy of music's AV system since 2010. The Academy has grown over the years and undergone renovations. The latest round of changes brought Norseman AV the opportunity to install an Epson high definition laser based projector to replace the aging one we installed many years before. A few months later, we were hired to replace the surround sound processor and speakers, while maintaining as much as the current restoration changes that were in place. After a few modifications, Norseman AV successfully updated all of the speakers.
